A True Peace and Social Justic Activist for Congress

With all the buzz and dramatic events unfolding in the presidential race, some of these smaller races are falling even further behind in getting noticed, but in Maryland's 4th district, there's some exciting things going on! I'm sure you all know that Donna Edwards is running again this cycle again Albert Wynn. Donna Edwards is true progressive leader that has proven her dedication for peace and social justice. We (The Council for a Livable World) have endorsed her and so have other great groups like NARAL and Emily's List, plus tons of blogs, etc have endorsed her. If you've never seen her in person or on TV -- watch this video to get a taste of the type of leadership that could be in Congress in 08 if she gets the support she deserves!

The Cost of War

Hi All,

Check out the new video I just made for the Council for a Livable World's sister organization, the Center for Arms Control and Non Proliferation. It's meant to give an overview of what the war in Iraq and Afghanistan has cost the United States and Iraq. It's by no means comprehensive, but it does give the facts.

Ashley

Iowa Chooses Tomorrow -- but You can Choose Today

This is Ashley from Council for a Livable World. We are holding a contest to see if there is someone out there who can choose the top 3 finishers of the Iowa Caucasus and the New Hampshire Primary. That's 12 guesses, and we're going to give $200 to the first place finishers, $100 to the second, and $50 to the third. Think you can do it? Try it now, you have less than 24 hours to enter. Go to http://www.clw.org/contest/pick12/enter.

I was actually just in Iowa this past week, my home state, for the holidays. It's true what they say. Nearly every person I talked to said they were "pretty sure," but not 100% sure, who they were going to caucus for.

One more shot if you want to enter our contest. Go to http://www.clw.org/contest/pick12/enter to throw your bid in the ring, and potentially win some cash while you're at it.
